The keynote address was delivered by Eric Fitzsimons, Founder & Technical Lead at CNE Creative, who discussed the evolving role of technology and sustainability in local manufacturing operations.

The event also featured an engaging panel discussion moderated by Derrek Jerred, Economic Development Manager for the City of Greeley, with panelists:
-Nick Gonzales, Operations Leader, Chevron
-Maximilian Knight, CEO, Rooted Robotics
-Miranda Carbaugh, COO/Director of Sales, Wiley Roots Brewing
-Eric Fitzsimons, Founder & Technical Lead, CNE Creative

The panel shared insights on workforce development, automation, sustainability, and how local partnerships are driving the next generation of manufacturing growth in Northern Colorado.

“Innovation Talks helps create a bridge between campus and community, connecting our students with the people, ideas, and industries shaping the region’s economic future,” said Rachel Roberts. “Events like these not only showcase the incredible innovation happening locally but also open doors for our students to learn directly from leaders driving change.”

Special thanks to our partners — the City of Greeley, CNE Creative, Wiley Roots Brewing, Rooted Robotics, Chevron, and the National Science Foundation — for their continued collaboration in fostering innovation and industry connections.

Innovation Talks will return in Spring 2026 with a new focus on emerging trends in entrepreneurship and applied innovation.
